How do you find time to read during the busy Christmas season? You don’t, you make the time. Whether it’s your Bible or a good book, if it’s important, you’ll find the time. In my case, Patty, my faithful and supportive wife read out loud as we traveled. This is something we’ve been doing for a long time. She’s read all of the Left Behind Series, the Rosenberg Series, all of my 15 books and many others, while I am driving. It certainly helps the miles go by. So in the midst of Christmas events, shopping, parties, decorating the tree and house, we read Joanie Bruce’s nail biter, MARKED FOR MURDER.
This gripping tale got our attention from page one and held it till the last page. Her female character Alana Chandler, was tough, vulnerable and believable. Joanie painted her as a woman of deep faith, yet one who at times doubted, especially as her life was threatened on more than one occasion.
She did a good job of pacing, not too fast, not too slow. But the thing I loved most about MARKED FOR MURDER was Joanie’s scene painting and tag lines. She has a unique way of setting the stage and delivering the gut wrenching punch line. I highly recommend MARKED FOR MURDER for your bucket list.
